In the centre of the Netherlands lies Wageningen. Situated centrally, Wageningen is an ideal base for exploring the rest of the country. The surroundings of Wageningen are delightful. To the North lies the Veluwe (the largest nature reserve in the Netherlands) and to the South lies the Betuwe and the meadows of the river Rhine. In Wageningen you can visit the splendid botanic garden of Wageningen University, enjoy the great view over the river Rhine, visit the Wednesday market and see many historical buildings. Wageningen is a middle-sized town with approximately 35.000 residents.
On May 5th, 1945, the German capitulation was signed in Hotel De Wereld by the German Colonel General Johannes Blaskowitz in the presence of Prince Bernard, Commander-in-Chief of the Dutch Army and General Charles Foulkes, Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian liberation army. In the hotel is a painting that commemorates this historical event.
Wageningen has one camp-site: “Vakantiestee De Wielerbaan”. You will spend your holiday in in the area of the camp-site part with recreation-houses, you can use our extremely luxurious house and the facilities of the camp-site, surf trough the site, you will stand astonished concerning the many possibilities  your holiday in Wageningen can offer!
